Sweet Mountain Farm tours and workshops are seasonal from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend. Plan a 45 minute tour of the apiary, schedule a two hour long beekeeper mentoring session or immerse a group (club, association or SMF scheduled function) in an educational day long, hands on, beekeeper Field Day. Tours and Workshops will learn about Russian honey bees and the unique behaviors that set this breed apart. Tours and workshops begin Thursday, May 23, 2024 and can be booked up to 90 days in advance.
Sweet Mountain Farm Tours and Workshops: Appropriate dress is advised; We suggest pants, long sleeve shirts, and long hair secured. Beekeepers should bring suits, veil and gloves to examine the inside of a hive. Hives can be opened on days above 60 degrees Fahrenheit when no rain is expected.
