Beekeepers should bring suits, veil and gloves to examine the inside of a hive. Hives can be opened on days above 60 degrees Fahrenheit when no rain is expected.
Sweet Mountain Farm tours and workshops are seasonal from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend. Plan a 45 minute tour of the apiary, schedule a two hour long beekeeper mentoring session, immerse a group (club, association or SMF scheduled function) in an educational day long, hands on, beekeeper Field Day, or plan a 3 day farm immersion experience. Tours and Workshops will learn about Russian honey bees and the unique behaviors that set this breed apart. Tours and workshops begin Saturday, May 24, 2025 and can be booked up to 90 days in advance.
